A passion for all things beautiful; from fashion, makeup to art Jay has developed an outstanding understanding of Art and beauty through her varied creative roles in the Beauty and Retail industries.
Jay started her career in beauty in 2001 after completing an NVQ in advanced beauty and nail techniques in college. Working in various salons she then continued to the prestigious London College of Fashion now a part of the Univesity of Arts London. It was here that she successfully completed a Honors Degree in Beauty Science, the only course of its kind offered in the UK that caters to the Beauty Industry.
Surrounded by the buzz of the fashion capital of the UK she gained 3 years of experience working for up market beauty and cosmetics retailer Space NK. Starting at their Flagshop Store in Notting Hill and then moving on to Chiswick. She concentrated on her make up artistry skills working with makeup artists from cosmetic brands such as Nars, Chantecaille, Laura Mercier, Lipstick Queen, Stila and By terry(by the creator of the touche eclait).
It is with Space NK that she gained her broad knowledge of beauty and cosmetics alike hand picking hints and tips on application and routines whilst formulating her own ideas through extensive experience.
Having completed her degree in 2009, she was employed by Clarins UK Limited, specialising in Makeup at one of their flagship London Stores.
In 2013 Jay became a Makeup Artist as part of the Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Collection team, working at the first counter worldwide in Selfridges Oxford Street. She has since progressed to the management team whilst assisting to the product development department.
In her spare time Jay has also worked as a volunteer regional co-ordinator for Look, Good Feel Better(LGFB). The purpose of LGFB is to offer cancer patients across the world the basics of a beauty and make up regime which in turn helps to boost confidence at a time when it can hit an all time low, due to the common physical side effects of treatments.
